Professional Fitness Instructor Training requires all examinees to have current Adult CPR and Basic First Aid training in order to sit for any of the PFIT certification examinations and renewals. Adult CPR and Basic First Aid are not required to take any of the training courses. Below are basic descriptions of what should be covered in any CPR and First Aid training course. CPR training should teach the skills needed to respond in respiratory and cardiac emergencies; rescue breathing, airway obstruction, and CPR. Basic First Aid training should provide the knowledge and skills necessary to respond in respiratory and cardiac emergencies, to reduce pain and to minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives. Below is a list of several providers of CPR and First Aid training. During some of our training courses, particularly those held in Houston, TX, we bring in Cynergy Consultants to provide this training. CPR and First Aid Provider List
