All courses implement both theoretical (lectures) and practical (hands-on) training, as do the PFIT certification examinations.The Professional Fitness Instructor Training (PFIT) advisory board and staff are composed of sports medicine and orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, exercise science professionals, registered and licensed dietitians, and fitness training professionals certified by nationally recognized institutions (including ACE, ACIM, ACSM, NASM, NSCA, and AFAA). Through the unselfish application of their skills they enhance the curriculum while providing instruction to the enrolled students. The commonality of all the primary and supporting staff is the in-depth knowledge of the PFIT programs and certifications. Most have attended multiple schools and attained multiple certifications and/or degrees through diversified, nationally recognized organizations or universities.
